Fire Safety Science

Upon actuation, the high flow-rate INDIREL™ valve will efficiently release suppression agent through our specialized nozzle. The INDIREL™ valve operating pressure is 195PSI (13BAR) and is capable of discharging FK5-1-12, HFC227ea, or ECO-7 extinguishing agents. INDIREL™ is fully autonomous and requires no power to operate.
Additionally, the INDIREL™ valve can be operated by an electric latching solenoid to allow seamless integration to detection / suppression panels.

Detection

  • Heat-Sensing Tubes: Similar to DAR, strategically placed flexible polymer tubes act as the primary detection mechanism.
  • Pre-set Temperature Threshold: Each tube is designed to rupture at a specific pre-set temperature, indicating the presence of a potential fire.
  • Smoke Detection Sensors: Strategically placed smoke detectors continuously monitor the protected environment for any signs of smoke. Each smoke detector is connected to the clean agent cylinder through an electric solenoid. This solenoid acts as a controlled valve.
  • Automatic Discharge: When the smoke detector senses smoke exceeding a pre-set threshold, it sends an electrical signal to the solenoid. The solenoid then activates, opening a valve and allowing the clean agent to flow through a dedicated nozzle towards the fire source.

Discharge

  • Panel Activation: Upon receiving the signal from the ruptured tube, the control panel activates the release mechanism.
  • Pre-Installed Nozzles: This triggers the opening of pre-installed nozzles strategically positioned around the protected equipment.
  • Agent Release: The pressurized clean agent (FK5-1-12 or HFC227ea) stored in the system is then released through the opened nozzles, blanketing the targeted area and extinguishing the fire using the same principles as DAR (interrupting the chemical chain reaction).

SECONDARY AGENT RELEASE SYSTEM (SAR)

SAR System with Active Cabinet Smoke Detection (ACSD) Unit

Heat Sensing Tube (HST)

The heart of the DAR system is a heat-sensing tube, made of flexible polymer, it's tough, easy to install, and affordable. When a fire raises the temperature, the heat triggers a rupture, transforming the tube into a self-made nozzle for the clean agent, extinguishing the fire quickly and directly.

Clean Agent Solutions

Our micro-suppression systems offer two clean agent options: FK5-1-12 (Novec 5112) and HFC227ea (FM-200). Both effectively extinguish fires by smothering or interrupting the chemical chain reaction. FK5-1-12 boasts environmental benefits with a shorter lifespan and zero ozone depletion, while HFC227ea is faster acting and more affordable, but has a higher environmental impact. Consult a professional to choose the agent that best suits your needs and regulations.
